Activity Status:
Evaluation/Assessment plan:

Evaluation Plan and Measures: comparative review of overall major changes; analysis of like-area-of-study migration and time of change.

Baseline measure: 10% reduction in change of major.

Goal or targets: 100% reduction in unintentional change of major processes.

Time period/duration: Each term/academic year.

Progress and Adjustments:

Initially implemented Spring 2023

The major information was updated over Summer 2023 to reflect the most recent catalog year. This will have to be an annual update.

At the beginning of Fall 2023, the process was partially automated to speed up processing time of these requests. At the end of Fall 2023, the plan is to expand the use of the form, so that not only current students use it, but also accepted students who haven’t yet enrolled in classes.

Plan for the Year Ahead:

Integrate Admissions’ changes of majors into this process (i.e. students who have been accepted but not yet enrolled)

Collect data and assess.

Challenges and Support:

Real-time reporting
