Measuring the impact of academic success content in all sections of the Institutional Priority domain (formerly, Area B) courses. The asynchronous academic success content contains three main modules with a total of 15 sections, focusing on topics like time management, student success resources, and career preparation
MGA admits a significant number of students who need remediation and are enrolled in learning support (LS) coursework. MGA saw a 107% increase in the number of LS students from fall’22 to fall’25. In fall’25, 847 students placed into learning support, accounting for 9.6% of enrollment.
The LIGHT Your Path initiative aims to integrate student support services at MGA to provide a guided structured pathway for incoming freshmen towards successful academic and career outcomes.
This initiative is built around MGA’s existing student support resources to include advising, student success coaching, academic engagement, career and leadership opportunities, and freshman year experience. This initiative addresses Strategy I under MGA’s 2023-28 Strategic Plan to ‘Champion Student Success.”
The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) at MGA has been well-established with the hiring of additional staff to disseminate effective practices in teaching and learning for new instructors and for the continued professional development of full- and part-time faculty. It provides regular programming to support how faculty enrich their practices in order to enhance student learning.

The Knights Academy (KA) is an online academic community focused on increasing first year student academic success by engaging the student in a variety of learning activities. These activities seek to assist students develop critical student success skills by participating in quests and engaging with other students through discussion posts. Designing and integrating academic success content into all sections of Area I (formerly, Area B) courses, regardless of session length or modality. Because this activity has been brought to completion, the project will now focus on cohesive guidance on instructional practices shared across all faculty teaching Area I courses. This guidance aligns with evidence-based practices for creating welcoming, encouraging, and navigable courses.

In fall’24, 733 students placed into learning support, accounting for 8.7% of fall’24 enrollment.
