The North Georgia Regional CCG meeting was held on March 29, 2016 at the University of North Georgia on the Dahlonega Campus. In addition to the host institution, participants included administrative and faculty representatives from Dalton State College, Georgia Highlands College, Georgia Gwinnett College, Kennesaw State University and the Univesrity of Georgia.
Participants discussed their greatest successes and challenges with their college completion work, where their next big push might be, and who the campus champions are for their institutions. From these discussions, for key areas of interest emerged for more discussion among the participants:
Discussion among groups focused on these three issue areas provided perspective on what the assets needed to address this issue are available either from the region or the system and what appear to be missing, and what is needed to make progress on this issue. Each group clarified the concern, provided key observations for framing the issue and identified an initial idea for addressing this issue.
The discussions that emerge from this, and other, regional meetings provide a foundation for further discussions among regional partners at greater depth. At the conclusion of the four regional meetings, CCG staff will entertain requests for proposals for collaborations among campuses to continue these conversations. Limited grants will be extended to selected proposals that encourage capacity development and sharing of experiences across institutions and to move it more deeply into institutions.
