Strategy/Project Description: 

As part of the consolidation with Georgia Southern University (GS), a full-time Career & Internship Advisor position has been created for the Swainsboro campus. The position has been posted with the goal of starting later this fall, but not later than by January 1, 2026. The new Career & Internship Advisor will assist students career services and internship opportunities in the surrounding community, provide guidance and advice for students on the development of career competencies and preparation related to experiential learning, job search process, graduate school planning, and other career-related concerns.

Evaluation/Assessment plan: 

An assessment plan will be developed based on the following job responsibilities:

  • One-to-one meetings and correspondence with students.
  • Assist students in preparing career development plans in alignment with the Ready Day One Career Plan.
  • Assist with the implementation of the Ready Day One Program.
  • Work with student success faculty and staff to increase student engagement in professional development activities including career related events.
  • Promote events, services, internships, job postings and other career related information to students through effective marketing strategies.

None anticipated.

Plan for the Year Ahead: 

Integrate the new position on the East Georgia Swainsboro Campus into the operations of Georgia Southern University’s Office of Career and Professional Development.
