Workshops and 1:1 consultations with educational specialists offered in-person and virtual

Georgia Tech’s Big Idea from Momentum Summit IV in 2021 was to link our Momentum work with our Institute Strategic Plan (ISP) by establishing an internal mini-grant program—the Amplify Momentum Project or GT-AMP.  Evaluating the mini-grant projects and examining their impact was a key component of our 2023 Momentum plan.

• CETL will create and sustain faculty book talks, workshops, and faculty learning communities to promote growth mindset, purpose through course redesign or enhancements.  
• IESI: Faculty will examine faculty mindset survey and area F course for Mindset, Purpose, or High Impact Practices. 

New Idea: Supplemental Instruction/Tutoring Subject with adjacent lab

Redesign content and format to improve transition experience for students and increase student success and retention

1. Roadrunner Faculty Academy: This is a year-long cohort program for all new full-time faculty joining Dalton State regardless of any previous teaching experience. Monthly meetings focus on evidence-based teaching techniques centered on creating an inclusive and engaging classroom experience for all students. Several aspects of this program work to support the needs of first-year students including transparency in learning and teaching, holding equitable classroom discussions, classroom assessment techniques, use of teaching and learning technologies, and inclusive course design.

Quality Enhancement Plan, 2023-2028

FYSE courses of instruction. FYSE 1101 - “A seminar course focusing on contemporary and enduring questions that engage students in intellectual inquiry and academic life while encouraging critical thinking skills and metacognitive reflection.” 

Goal: Expand utilization of most useful course components in CourseDen and extend the chatbot platform into academic colleges and schools.
